what is 10% of php worth?
i am listed as one of the ten members of the php group. most of the php source code says it is copyright “the php group” (except for the zend engine stuff). the much-debated contributor license agreement for PDO2 involves the php group.
could i assign whatever rights (and responsibilities) my membership in the php group represents to someone else? how much should i try to get for it? i mean, if mysql was worth $1 billion....
i am still disappointed that a way of evolving the membership of the php group was never established.

I guess we could swap out the people who reply to the odd licensing issue, but since that is the only purpose of group@ I really don't see it as a big deal. All technical decisions are hashed out on internals@ by everyone involved. And yes, it is a bit of a mess getting things done that way sometimes, but the idea of having some small exclusive group making far-reaching decisions doesn't appeal to me.
i think it is entirely possible for a person or group to provide leadership to a project without making technical decisions. but that is tangential to whether my membership in the php group is fungible.
Don't you also get to edit any CVS module on cvs.php.net?
