much better

fridge and painted wall this is a much happier picture than the previous one. our new refrigerator in our newly-painted kitchen.

the paint color is behr’s “green tea.”

we’re planning to use the same color in the bathrooms and the bedroom (and probably the storeroom).

the rest of the kitchen isn’t nearly as clean.

Kitchen - Looking good! I love the color.

Stop. Now.

This color is also called Gilmore Green. Trish loves it and uses it in all the units and in some hallway areas.

Trust me. You will soon tire of this color and then seeing it will cause you to see red.

Stop. Now.

Trust me.

that's funny, jim is currently in the san fernando and we haven't noticed "gilmore green" anywhere in the building.

Perhaps, Celia, that is true because you always seem to be wearing sunglasses.

Take them off and look around at the hallway walls. Gilmore Green abounds.

they aren’t the same color at all.

and at least on my floor, the hallway walls are brown. the hallway ceiling is a dark green. i guess the ”gilmore green” you’re talking about is what is used around the elevator landing. can’t say i’ve ever noticed it before.

it doesn’t look terribly offensive to me, but i guess i’m not looking for things to be offended about.

That's why you need me. I've been living with it for nearly six years, so listen to the voice of experience.

The green will creep into your life and you will eventually hate it. However, maybe it is not the green. Look into it. Do you see the yellow? Maybe it is the yellow.

Or don't listen. Learn the hard way. Let it drive you nuts and then you'll be fighting with your future wife about who chose it and why.

haha! you're right, i am almost always wearing sunglasses. and i think jim might be color blind if the color of that sofa he had in his bedroom is any indication.

but i think our color is much lighter than the green in the gilmore buildings. maybe it just photographs that way because it seems so remarkably different to me that we don't recognize it on the walls of the gilmore buildings. maybe we'll grow to hate it. but we don't have to live six years with it. we could just paint over it.

wow! the kitchen looks great! not sure if you remember meeting Sean &myself at the COLES PE meet.. but sean & I are finally taking some of the advice folks gave us and do the loft tour!

so um.. speaking of fridges.. where do you get your food when you are trapped in LA? =P (I still don't own a car so that and our personal safety is important pluses.. that and our cats).

we're never "trapped" in los angeles, in fact, we hate to leave it. there are grocery stores in downtown los angeles. no supermarkets, but there's mitsuwa and marukai markets in little tokyo, the old bank deli in the historic core, and lax-c by the san antonio winery. we get produce (and tons of other stuff) from farmer's markets. there's one in little tokyo on tuesdays, in front of the central library on wednesdays, and seventh street marketplace or chinatown on thursdays.
