does anyone else find it odd that nobody who is participating y!q for publishers beta has disclosed that they’re getting paid to put it on their site?
(and why do the results pop up in-page on the page i’ve linked to, but not on anybody’s blogs?)
wired says that it doesn’t matter which high-definition dvd becomes king, because online distribution will rule them all. that sounds about right. there’s also some comments about what this means for the neighborhood video store. the video store owner strikes me as the least optimistic. that says something.
bitmover is dropping the free version of bitkeeper, which is a shame. i’m not sure that we have decided what to do. i wish bazaar ng was a little further along. it looks like it is shaping up to be the best-of-breed of the new generation of open-source version control systems.
california democrats have proposed cutting the gas tax and raising the sales tax to make up for it. what a staggeringly bad idea. it’s almost as bad as bustamante’s idea to have the goverment regulate the price of gasoline that he floated during the recall/governor election.
and lucky me, my state assembly member is the idiot who unveiled this stupid plan. (how is it that i keep living in the district where the assembly speaker is from? i lived in hertzberg’s district before moving downtown.)
