gas prices surge over past 2 weeks. i didn't notice. every once in a while i double-check to make sure my car hasn't been stolen. (still there.)

that is almost certainly what i'll do when i decide to get rid of my car. it wouldn't be worth much as a trade-in (and obviously that wouldn't be relevant if i was going carless), and i wouldn't want to deal with selling it myself.
with my insurance coming due in a month or so, it's definitely time to take another look at going carless. there's a nearby budget rent-a-car, and a one-day rental looks like it runs about $40. my insurance is about $45 a month.
if i had a job situation all sorted out, or the car needed repairs, it would be an easy call.
