strawberries i started the docent training at the central library today, and one big perk to it being on wednesday mornings is that afterwards i get to hit the farmers’ market on 5th street.

mmm, fresh roasted peanuts.

according to one of the people who works at the library, it will now be going on until the end of the year.

another booth was selling some sort of cinnamon-flavored roasted almonds that smelled amazing. i can still smell them. i’ll have to fight my way through the crowd to try them next time.

i do go ga-ga over bananas. so much so that i’ve stopped buying them.

i knew i had mentioned this in passing before — my two-banana-a-day habit.

i usually have one banana a day. i prefer the slightly greenish ones to the very yellow, overly ripe ones. don't go too overboard though...bananas have a....binding effect on your body....

that’s another reason i stopped buying bananas — i had to keep a steady flow going so that i would always have bananas at or near the proper ripeness, which usually means no green.

but overshooting the proper ripeness is fine — that’s why god invented banana bread.
