i find a certain irony in aaron's comment about boring weblogs that just present links with no personal reactions that follows two entries with no commentary and two automated entries. (the comment i'm referring to is currently the second-to-last one from yesterday. here's the permalink, but that takes it out of context.)

john dvorak makes his 2002 predictions. i think his linux-on-the-desktop thing is off-base (but wouldn't feel bad if proven wrong). most of his predictions seem pretty obvious, which makes the whole list rather dull. how about: in 2002, more journalists will learn how to write for the web and start linking to things? the machine from this article about building your own mini-pc just about fits my specs for an ideal home server. $250 (plus more for a cpu) looks like a pretty good price, too. (via /.)

i need to decide what to do with the blo.gs and weblo.gs domains, which come up for renewal in a couple of months. i bought them on a whim, and still think they are cool, but i'm not sure i think they're $100/year cool.
