saving me the trouble, oliver is taking snapshots of my neighborhood. okay, it's his neighborhood, too.
this article on msnbc about how 'file sharing needles pattern makers' would be more interesting if the los angeles times hadn't written the same article in august 2000. (unfortunately, i can't find a link to the article.) if 'major pattern publisher' dynamic resources group really wanted to make a serious challenge to the online trading, they'd sell patterns online. but they're too focused on making buggy whips and treating all of their customers like thieves.
i find a certain irony in aaron's comment about boring weblogs that just present links with no personal reactions that follows two entries with no commentary and two automated entries. (the comment i'm referring to is currently the second-to-last one from yesterday. here's the permalink, but that takes it out of context.)
john dvorak makes his 2002 predictions. i think his linux-on-the-desktop thing is off-base (but wouldn't feel bad if proven wrong). most of his predictions seem pretty obvious, which makes the whole list rather dull. how about: in 2002, more journalists will learn how to write for the web and start linking to things?
