Introducing HangerSpace
HangerSpace is a side project I’ve been building on the weekends. It’s a digital wardrobe and daily outfit log. I mentioned before that we have been thrifting quite a bit this year and this sort of grew out of that. Celia and I both have overstuffed closets, so this is a way for us to start inventorying and tracking it.
There is an intro video there, but I recorded that a week ago so it is already out of date.
It was only running on the Raspberry Pi on my desk until earlier today, when I spun up some resources on Fly.io and migrated over.
When I started building this, it was with an eye towards it being able to support more people and have the potential to turn into an actual side hustle of some kind. I have been reluctant to really spend money on it, and so far it has just been a small investment in a domain name and a monthly development tool subscription. I still have credits with Fly.io that can sustain the service for at least six months.
Aside from deploying this on Fly.io, this weekend’s project has been wiring up the planned eBay selling features using eBay’s developer APIs. The edges are rough, but this listing for a Polo by Ralph Lauren shirt was published directly from my HangerSpace closet.
New user registration is currently locked down to invites, so if you are interested in giving it a spin, get in touch with one of us.
