this article from wired news about the short life of game addictions is great. i like the comparison to other types of short-term addictions.
pretty much everyone in the small world of warcraft guild i was in appears to have decided to stop playing at just about the same time.
lately i’ve been playing katamari damacy which is delightfully strange. i also picked up the sequel, we love katamari, so i hope my interest in the game doesn’t burn out before i get to that. the sequel also has a two-player co-op mode that sounds like either a lot of fun or grounds for a screaming match.

i guess that means i should probably cancel my account. too bad, it would have been nice to actually make it to level 60 once.
Todd and I are actually hoping that a nice break will make us want to play again. We probably will never be "addicted" again like we once were (gee I loved that!I actually tried to start Guild Wars and see if I could get that into it, no luck) but we know we have the option to return to our character after we reactivate the account. So there is hope of someday reaching 60!

First Reciprocity dies, then StarBlight. Todd and I actually cancelled our account, will de-activate on the last day of Oct. I still love WoW, but only Senyo plays any more :( He even got me to switch to a PVE server and roll a Human Mage. Miss the whole guild/skype thing though. Katamari looks freaky!
