2003 tax refund charity
this is coming very late in the year, because i filed very late in the year and only just today received my federal tax refund, but i have the portion of my refund from the 2003 tax year that i’ll be giving away in an envelope ready to be mailed.
harvey mudd college, which i somehow escaped from with a degree, is the beneficiary this year (again). the donation is earmarked for student scholarships.
flying lawnmower and other crazy flying things, with videos (kinda via jeremy zawodny).
the upcoming season of six feet under will be its last. too bad. although it is still excellent, later seasons really haven’t matched the power of its first season. also, the sopranos next (and last) season won’t debut until 2006. yikes!
incredible
it is becoming clear that the defining characteristic of a pixar film is not being disappointed, even when you go in with high expectations. the incredibles is brilliant. brad bird (writer and director) is a supergenius, using his powers for tremendous good. i can’t think of anything not to like about the film. the story, the characters, the animation, the backgrounds, the camera work, it’s all masterfully executed. the cast is great — who knew that craig t. nelson could turn in such a great performance?
