the dock downtown is a one-weekend-a-month furnishings store, sort of. (you sign up for the email list, and they email the location and time.) apparently their definition of downtown includes glendale.
i think i’ll start referring to everything outside of the area bounded by the 10, 5, 101, and 110 as the suburbs.

The Dock Downtown: Actually I've been to several of the sales and they are amazing. Huge discounts off of retail and really high quality merchandise. But they won't leet you in unless you are on the guest list so you have to sign up.
Read your comments on the dock downtown. When we first uncovered and published the inside scoop this cool bargain source on BargainsLA.com in Winter 2002 they where selling at a warehouse / dock in downtown LA. Higher-end, hip home furnishings and decor at wholesale and below pricing. Back then they were only open every few months. It is now as it was then at even that "funky" location ... fabulous bargain shopping. However as things happened they had to change locations. Now, they open up to the public once a month and they're at a "not as funky" warehouse in an industrial area in Glendale. They still have "Uptown style at downtown prices". S.

Thanks for the link. Actually, LAblogs.com is an open forum for anyone in LA to post news, or events to. Blogging.la is a specific few authors writing commentary on things that may only vaguly be related to LA so they are pretty different. good times.
