matt haughey has written an excellent article about his experiences with google’s adsense on pvrblog.

for last month, the advertising on blo.gs came close to covering the hosting for the server. that’s not nearly as much money as matt is talking about for pvrblog, but i’m surprised how blo.gs pulls in anything at all, considering the site is so content-light. except for a two-day spike after the redesign, there hasn’t been a significant change in the amount of money being earned by the site.

one thing that is enlightening about searching for an apartment is looking at the listed prices for places near where i currently live. as suspected, i am overpaying for the place i have now, and there are lots of apartments available in the area.

i haven’t given up on downtown yet, but it’s nice to know there’s a fallback in case the end of the month starts to loom.

here is an entertaining listing from craiglist.

i forgot to mention that when visiting the los angeles central public library, i was able to check out american originals: treasures from the national archives, an exhibit of some documents from american history. really remarkable stuff, especially the voting record from the constitutional convention.
