nokia 3650 for free (with t-mobile service activiation)
so through amazon, it's now possible to get the nokia 3650 for free with t-mobile service activation. (actually, it's only free with a service plan of $40/month or higher, otherwise it is $100.)
at&t's rates for data are pretty terrible in comparison to t-mobile's. $3/month just for access with at&t, and $0.02/KB, compared with $3/month for 1MB with t-mobile, and $3/MB beyond that.

I'll have to point out that the 3650 doesn't have GPRS (according to Nokiausa.com).
(not that I use it. When it gets a bit cheaper or I start being places with no network more often I'd consider it).
Why can't Nokia make a phone with Bluetooth and GPRS?
- ask
you have to be double jointed to use that numeric keypad.
The 3650 does do GPRS. From nokiausa.com: "High-speed data transmission over GSM data, HSCDS and GPRS where available". Ask, perhaps you were looking at the 3560 instead?
Using the 3650 as a modem (over GPRS, not over GSM) for my iBook with Bluetooth adapter works like a charm. Well, a slow charm anyway.

Actually, T-Mobile's data rates are even better than what Amazon shows. They recently added an unlimited plan for $19.99/month. (Don't be fooled by the fact that their site lists the plan for $29.99/month. It's really $19.99 when linked with a voice plan.)
