sometimes it's hard to reconcile respect for someone wiling to farm for a living with the massive subsidies the farm industry receives. the federal government sometimes talks a good game on free trade, but then you realize that there are powerful, powerful lobbies that make sure their industries are exempt from the complications of a market economy.

watching next@cnn's e3 review, there were two games that looked amazing: blinx, a “4d” platform game for the xbox, and doom iii. blinx looks like a lot of fun, and doom iii simply looks breathtaking. it's almost enough to make me want an xbox or a pc fast enough for gaming.
