japan is training volunteers to tackle monkeys to deal with them in tourist areas. clearly the training of the monkeys is going to have to be stepped up.
i'm thinking about building a site that would be something akin to the league of women voter's smartvoter.org, but more in the weblog/news-aggregator spirit. and more focused on southern california. good idea?
i'm not a heavy reader of kuro5hin, but the “dynamic thread mode” they've developed is a huge leap forward in the usability of threaded discussion boards. (it works great in mozilla, at least. i can't vouch for other browers.)
job search, day 119: job offer. now i just need to figure out what an acceptable price on my head is. ugh.
the federal trade commission has proposed a national “do not call” registry. of course, there are some industries that want to be exempt from this, like newspapers. “onerous and unnecessarily restrictive requirements”? that's the point, pinhead.
