this msnbc article points how saving money at the grocery store using coupons means eating less healthy. my strategy is to buy lots of fruits and veggies. (i go through at least two pounds of carrots and a big bunch of bananas every week, along with lots of apples, oranges, celery, cauliflower, and other good stuff. i'd buy more if i could carry it, or stand to go grocery shopping more often.)

After 15 years i;'ve realized that life without meat is meaningless. My life would have been so much better, I would have had the edge, I would've made smart investments I wouldn't have to eat a pound of tofu to get the ammount of protein found in a bite of lamb.
come on. look how well the pandas are doing being vegetarians...
jim, you should look for a local farmer's market. the deals and quality can not be beat by any grocer. the hollywood fm is every sunday morning and within two blocks of the hollywood/vine subway station. I'm usually still in bed when it ends, but if not, there's a booth with some of the best tamales that makes the walk worth it.
localharvest.org has a nation-wide list of all farmer's markets. looks like you're pretty screwed if you live in nevada...
no, i'm not about to become a fruitarian, or even a vegetarian (although i haven't been eating much red meat lately).
having a farmer's market nearby is one of the criteria i'll be applying in finding my next place to live. (it's probably not a deal-breaking criteria, but definitely high on the nice-to-have list. right up there with having a public library nearby.)

sounds like jw has become a fruitarian. actually, a fruit diet is really cool - i can go just with some oranges, grapes, bananas, and watermelons - HUGE.
