this article from the la times talks about an allegedly bad $95 million deal between the state of california, logicon, and oracle which seems altogether unsurprising. the mo of companies like oracle and the attendant swarm of consulting companies is to overprice and underdeliver.

My first real job out of college was at Logicon. I worked there for almost two years, and one thing I learned there is that Logicon hires a lot of Harvey Mudd graduates. (At one point, the company had fully one percent of all HMC grads in its payroll. ) I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with this.
How much of a kickback did you get from this deal, Jim?
