somebody at eidos is a damn genius. they are buying the rights to odd japanese video games from sony and will sell them in the us market. no sign of vib ribbon being released state-side, though.

eidos has that sweet $2 stock, too. at least tomb raider the movie was good...

this isn't unheard of, as the story mentions parrapa (same designer as vib ribbon) and titus imported the bizarre incredible crisis. with such a niche market, I'm shocked they're trying it. hell, looks like the ape escape sequel, ape escape 2001, won't be coming to america because it sold so poorly in japan. and if a game about vacuuming the pants off monkeys doesn't sell, the world is worse off than I thought.

sony made the mistake of spending lots on advertising with parappa, which is why they took a bath. it sounds like eidos is aiming lower. the upside probably won't be huge, but the downside is a lot less than having something like batman vengeance blow up in your face.
