i'm not sure whether the actions of an los angeles zoo komodo dragon are a commentary on journalists or people from san francisco. or maybe even on sharon stone. (in any case, it is one of those stories that makes your own foot hurt just reading about it.)

in a small town paper, a regular column written by religious leaders got into trouble when one of the authors dared to express something other than the prevailing view. i wonder if any non-christian views are ever expressed in the column. (one of the things that disheartens me about organized religion, or any other organization for that matter, is the resistance to criticism or discussion about fundamental assumptions.)
