so i was reading this article in fortune about the dallas sports franchise owners being models of how to make money by running sports teams, and nowhere does it talk about how taxpayers in dallas subsidized the fortunes of these guys.
with more and more of my cd collection ripped and strange things i haven't heard in a while getting played, i had to make myself a little javascript popup so i could find out what was now playing. (i'll also admit now to chickening out on ripping this album because i remember it being unlistenable. listening to five seconds of the first track just now made me shudder with the memory of the rest. ugh. one of my rare regrets of random album buying.)
here's a great article form the motley fool on investing in companies with integrity.
i guess i'm just being naïve thinking that if i keep just picking-up-and-hanging-up on "unknown caller" calls, they'll eventually stop. if only the modem i bought supported caller-id, then i could just route the calls to oblivion. i could have sworn that i asked for anonymous call rejection when i signed up for caller id, which would be screening them out. i guess i should just fork out the $4.75 to get it activated now.
for no particular reason other than because i could, i added a feature that allows for commenting on individual items here. just click the comment link after each entry. (yes, this is very much modeled on blogvoices and dotcomments.)
this has fun illustrations of discussion participants. if you've been on a mailing list, monitored a message board, or even skulked about in chat rooms, you've met some of these people.
