it's nice to know that when i want a job, the valley will provide one.
uh oh, maybe things aren't as rosy as the los angeles times would have me believe.
i am actively violating this patent. woohoo!
i ran across this study about binge drinking on college campuses. the observation i found interesting was about the growing polarization between binge drinkers and abstainers -- their numbers were both growing at most colleges. this table indicates that less students were "drinking to get drunk", even though they were getting drunk more often. all in all, an interesting situation.
i resumed ripping my cd collection not too long ago. i'm up to 113 albums by 63 artists, or just over five gigs of music. this is a little more than a quarter of my cd collection. songs are starting to show up in my playlist that i don't recognize because i haven't listened to them in so long.
there's a possible cbs and cnn alliance, and news corp. is talking about buying upn. all very interesting. one trend that seems to be growing, and i heartily approve, is that networks are rebroadcasting shows on the smaller networks or cable channels sooner. lifetime showed episodes of 'once & again' a few weeks after they aired on abc, usa shows episodes of 'law & order: svu' a few days after they air on nbc, and apparently 'the weakest link' is going to be rebroadcast on the pax network soon. why is this good? i can still catch shows that the big networks counterprogram against each other. (like this whole survivor vs. friends fiasco.) and with my tivo, i don't really care what network or when the shows are on.
