i finally got my july bank statement, so i was able to do a little burn-rate calculation to see how my financial situation has progressed over the last six months. the bottom line: about eighteen months before i need a job. while i'm not really planning on holding out that long, it is nice to know i've got the time.
(ah, if only i'd sold my red hat and va linux stock at their peaks. a lot of time was lost there. and webvan. oh, the humanity.)

yeah, what ever happened to trainedmonkey.com/stock? it could be worse- you could be rob wrubel... (although I recall him selling off a few million worth of stock back in the hayday, so even he's better off than you. damn.)
