tarsier: a screen saver toggle for windows
tarsier is a small application that allows you to quickly enable (and disable) your screen saver, as well as activate it.
tarsiers are the smallest species of monkeys. There are several species of tarsier that live in such locations as the phillipines and indonesia.
tarsier is free to download, use, and distribute. to install, download the executable, put it somewhere on your system (such as the WINDOWSSYSTEM directory), and create a shortcut to it in your ProgramsStartup folder.
tarsier will display a blue plus sign in the system tray if the screensaver is currently activated, otherwise it will display a red minus sign. to toggle the activation status, simply click on the icon. to start your screensaver immediately regardless of whether it is currently activated, simply double-click the system tray icon.
to exit tarsier or access other options, click on the system tray icon with the right mouse button and select an action from the popup menu that will appear.
as it says above, tarsier is free to use. but if you find it useful, i encourage you to make a donation to the world wildlife fund.
