this is the oldest remaining structure around pershing square in downtown los angeles, built in 1908. it was originally constructed in the beaux arts style, but then two sides of the building were re-clad in the moderne style in 1936. this is the back side of the building where the old and new styles collide.
this is actually just one of three buildings that makes up what is now known as the pacific center. my dentist’s office is in the larger building (on the left of this picture).
