liz marlantes on the mclaughlin group
to assuage my guilt about the daily show with jon stewart being my only source of news and political commentary, and because i enjoy the show, the pbs version of the mclaughlin group is one of my tivo season passes.
it is a shame that the two most frequent and vocal panelists on, tony blankley and eleanor clift, are such one-note partisan hacks. i’m not sure that liz marlantes has much more to say (in particular, one of her answers to a question this week seemed to be little more than a long-winded restatement of the question), but i’m willing to endure more screen-time from her to find out.
that’s me, taking one for the team. or something.
(side note: i found pat buchanan to be a surprisingly entertaining panelist. oh, and it’s not quite true about the daily show being my only news source. i also read the week.)

They definitely need to give Marlantes more face time. She's not a nasally partisan hag like Clift and she's nice to look at as well.
MARLANTES IS HOT!!!!!!!
she is gorgeous . should have a fan club. but a little lame.
Marlantes is hot!! I just can't stand what comes out of her mouth.
Anybody have her email address?
Scott
I THINK LIZ IS VERY HOT!!! SHE'S ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!!
Hoe old is Liz Marlantes? She is very bright!
i agree Liz is Hot!! I fell on this page by googling her name, i saw her first time on the Chris Mathews show. She is gorgeous.
Totally hot! I saw her a few months back on C-SPAN's Washington Journal
you can email liz marlantes here.
(an earlier post with her email address was deleted. there’s no sense contributing to her spam problem by making the email address easier to find.)
Marlantes says she looks for trend stories aimed at "normal people" as opposed to "insidery, who's-up/who's-down horse race stuff." With a master's in English literature from Oxford, she was hired by the Monitor with no journalism experience, and fairly bubbles with enthusiasm.
Her sudden television presence -- she says she "felt weird" discussing with John McLaughlin's panel the false rumor about Kerry having an affair -- brings her a barrage of e-mail, some from potential suitors unaware that she's married. Of course, she says she "always played the ingenue" in Harvard plays.
"I've had people contact me from the campaigns: 'Hey, saw you on TV,' " Marlantes says. "The fact that people recognize you by face makes you easier for people to talk to. I thought now maybe they'll give me all this great information -- and that didn't happen."

She's gorgeous!!! Great bone structure!
Yes, Liz is beautiful. But I agree that I can't stand what comes out of her mouth. I don't think I could ever be with a hard-core liberal.
Uh, hate to break it to you, but Liz is not the star she seems to be, though she is beautiful. I certainly think it is up for debate as to whether she is conservative or liberal, and I doubt Jay has any inside information on the subject. Read on (from the "Daily Howler"):
But their smiles quickly faded away when they saw what Kurtz was actually pimping. One of his stars is Liz Marlantes, a reporter for the Christian Science Monitor. She “profiled the much-profiled [John] Kerry in November,” Kurtz enthused. But here’s the kind of “provocative analysis” this brilliant new star gave her readers:
KURTZ: Marlantes rendered Kerry as “a product of exclusive schools and a relatively blue-blooded lineage,” with a “somewhat mannered style” and “anchorman’s head of hair.” But rather than echo the conventional wisdom that Kerry was a political corpse, she wrote: “Under the glare and strain of a hard-fought campaign, some say, Kerry’s preparedness may start to pay off.” Low, mordant chuckles filled our great halls. Yikes! Marlantes’ “provocative analysis” included hackneyed notes about Kerry’s hair and mannered style. Quickly, Kurtz acknowledged the truth. “The 30-year-old writer has caused a stir not for her Monitor articles but for her appearance—and smooth performance—on a spate of television programs,” he admitted. “She doesn’t deny that being an attractive young woman helps.” In short, Marlantes hasn’t “grabbed the attention of the media establishment” because of any “provocative analyses.” Marlantes has caught the press corps’ eye because she is young and good-looking.
Shes supposed to be a journalist. All anyone says about her in how hot she is and they are not wrong about that
Liz is a cutie pie. I know. I was about a foot away from her, running the Marine Corps Marathon, and there she was, looking very hot,and motivating the heck out of me as I ran the last mile. She has a fan for life! Hoorah! PS, I am a common sense, gun loving, Christian, dem.
She's on the McLaughlin Group this weekend looking as stunning as you've all described. I'd never seen her before, so I Googled and landed here.
I have seen the programe on the CNBC, and I am sure, that Miss Marlantes is one of the most beautiful girl on this planet. "A young guy from Hungary"
LIZ is HOT! So cute, and nice hair. And, I agree with her politics too.
Liz, is really hot - a rare combination of beauty and brains!
Liz is very attrctive! However bright you think she is she an extreme nut by promoting the Bush agenda. She needs to be in an institution! Now let's take a closure look at Liz.... The video and photos I have seen show and average female heavily made up for TV. There is really nothing special there. Pocked maked face and extremely bad skin is what you will see if you met face to face. I probably would kick her out of bed but I might if she spoke that right wing talk she's always pitching! And for her to continue to go on TV after all the wrong doing Bush has done just make her look like more of a dumb broad!
Scott...
Do yourself a huge favor and get an education. (No, not an indoctrination at Bezerkely - a real, bona-fide EDUCATION.)
Liz is a lil' hottie. The kind of gal I'd hang my head in shame for if I saw her in real life and didn't at least give it a try ;)
