los angeles downtown news confirms what i had questioned in the article from the los angeles times about the sheriff’s department “dumping” of someone near the midnight mission: “Ward, the Midnight Mission spokesman, confirmed that the single-file line often stretches to Seventh and San Pedro streets.”

other interesting bits of news:

  • the grand avenue festival is next weekend.
  • the art district farmers’ market is struggling, but local developers have chipped in to keep it going. the city council is looking at extending the run of the financial district farmers’ market, and possibly moving it to pershing square.
  • this interview with ed begley jr. is fun. he’s starring in david mamet’s romance, which opens next weekend.
  • microsoft is relocating their los angeles offices to downtown.

also, pete’s got a review in the times, although it is a pretty goofy review.
