knoppix running under virtualpc for the mac

knoppix can only handle 256-color display depth when running under virtualpc, which is kind of a bummer.

it’s quite disorienting to switch from virtualpc to native applications. not because the interfaces are different, but because you get used to a sort of moving-through-molasses mode of interaction when dealing with the applications running within virtualpc. the applications on the outside can actually keep up with you.

it’s great for being able to test things under icky operating systems that only run on icky hardware, though. (and linux, without having to set up a dual-boot environment.)
