john gruber writes about the flash-based ipod rumors, and brings up the problem of how you could possibly make a smaller ipod than the mini. i wonder if you could put the clickwheel on the back, and have it still be usable. it would take a little bit more effort to learn to use, but i think it would be feasible. (and is unlikely.)

it’s a good thing i caught the changing of the oprahs the other day, because now oprah has left downtown. what’s odd is that i somehow managed to notice as they were changing the sign. but it was early, about 6am, and i was too toasty in my bed to get out and grab my camera and document the momentous occasion. for the record, the sign under the sign, i guess from when they used to glue on new ads instead of stretching them over the framework, was for marlboro.

the entrance to the “stunning huge loft in downtown la” in this craigslist search is just across the stairwell from me. i’ve always wondered if the hallway is included in the square foot calculation for that unit.
