an imap server that doesn't suck?

dovecot was suggested by one of the commenters to a blog entry by ask about a problem he was having with uw-imapd. it's pre-1.0 still, but it looks like a imap server that may not suck. (here's packages for debian woody.) maybe this could provide a reason to finally switch over to imap.

(making an imap server that does not suck is pretty admirable, given how much the spec sucks. i'm surprised that a mail-over-http spec hasn't sprung up yet.)
