cardio v. weights

i'm impressed by how even-handed the doctors are in this article in the new york times about slow-motion weight training as the new fitness fad, instead of playing into only-two-sides-to-every-story angle. the weight trainers shilling books and services are less conciliatory, of course. and none of the doctors are trotted out until page two of the article. (and there's also substantiation or refutation of the claim that cardio work is more injury-prone.)

The insulin / glucose thing was interesting. I guess I picked a bad day to stop lifting weights.
