this article in the economist about the perfect investment for 2003 is fun. felicity foresight is their hypothetical investor who always picks the perfect investment for each year (where henry hindsight always invests in the perfect investment for the previous year). the bottom line for this year? She would be wise to recall 1931, when the best performing asset was cash, offering 1% interest.

the flower street lofts sound pretty cool. (not the sort of place that is really in the cards for me, but cool nonetheless.)

i've started to get excited about linuxworld 2003. my first linuxworld (after using linux since version 0.11), and my first visit to new york city. i've been reading gawker to get a feel for the place. sounds like a crowded los angeles with crappy weather.

i don't have a good solution to the wardrobe problems this brings up, however.
