marillion, once again pushing the edge of fan-funded efforts in the music business, is selling their latest single online (more details). buy one, they give you a second copy for free, and have made a form letter available for you to include with your extra copy when you send it to your favorite radio station (or other media outlet). it is too bad it won't work for getting radio play (at least in the us -- the radio situation may be different in the uk).
i set up two mail aliases, aardvark and zygote, that simply add anyone who sends mail to them to a list whose mail will just get dropped. i mention and link to them here so that spammers will pick them up and start flinging themselves at this new brick wall. the amount of spam i'm getting seems to have picked up again recently (despite filters which appear to be blocking a fair amount of it). there also appears to be an especially dumb scraper out there that has picked up some of the message-ids from messages i've posted to some mailing lists, which aren't even valid email addresses. those lead to the same place as aardvark and zygote now, too.
