pencils down is a site campaigning against standardized testing in schoolds (in a nutshell, read the site for more). an adjunct professor of education at pepperdine is behind it.

i really should dump my va linux stock. now that the company is basically focused on sourceforge, and i find sourceforge appalling (the geocrawler mailing list archive service is especially terrible), it really doesn't make much sense to hold on to the stock.
