there's some sort of lord of the rings joke to be made about the hubbub being made over the rings used in the pitt-aniston wedding. (i saw the preview for the trilogy before shrek today. it actually looks like it might not suck. but we'll see. unfortunately for new line productions, it has the potential to suck for three consecutive years. ouch.)

the la weekly has a great cover story on artists' rights and how poorly copyright serves them. a choice quote: "we are a nation of business people, and we find art and artists threatening. we will take artists' concerns seriously only if they don't cut significantly into the profit of some industry."
