douglas adams passed away. damn.
it's going to be a lazy dog-dangling afternoon. i can feel it.
i just realized something astounding about douglas adams passing away on friday -- he was supposed to deliver the commencement address at the graduation of harvey mudd college, my alma mater, tomorrow. (how did i come to this? i was reading dan bricklin's remembrance of him and regreted that i had never heard him speak. then i remembered. i had the announcement on my desk. but i had forgotten about it, and would have missed it.)
publically financed stadiums are the most egregious example of corporate welfare out there. as nice as it would be to have a football team in los angeles, i'd hate it if the vikings moved, and it sickens me that they can use los angeles as leverage to get minnesota taxpayers to pump money into their coffers.
