well, i'm back from apachecon 2001. actually, i was only at one day of the conference, but attended the pre-conference hackathon and asf member's meeting held on apple's campus (which is cool, despite being in the silivalley). if you are one of the many people i dissed by not letting them know i'd be in the bay area, i'm sorry. next time. (and no, i don't know when that will be.)

the conference wasn't all that exciting (but maybe i'm just too l33t for it, or just not much of a conference person to begin with), but the hackathon was entertaining, and it was good to hook up with the people i didn't dis.

the meta group says that there's still too few candidates for it jobs. i wonder what the outlook actually is for jobs that someone would want, though, compared to helpdesk monkey and codeslave jobs.
