why doesn't yahoo! groups make it possible for someone to pay to not have advertising appear in the messages to the mailing list? it seems like that would be a drop-dead-simple revenue stream for yahoo. they should make it open like blogspot so that the burden doesn't fall on the list owner.

to replace my cheap duffel bag that disintegrated upon return from my last trip, i went to the army surplus store and got a canvas swiss army rucksack. it's in perfect condition, and it rocks. $20. (checking luggage is for chumps.)

according to the la times, electronic arts is discontinuing 'majestic'. is anyone really surprised? it's easy to see how the developers could have convinced themselves it was a brilliant, groundbreaking idea. but even easier to see how the market would be very, very small. now, if there was an aspect of the game that brought the players together in meatspace....

here's a good article from the motley fool on the new music subscription sites. it is only a matter of time until a shareholder lawsuit is filed against the music companies for failing in their fiduciary duties by so badly mismanaging their moves in embracing the internet as a distribution medium.
